Camp Eastman Takes on the East Texas Senior Games
The Eastman Residents Bring Home Gold, Silver, and Bronze
At The Eastman, we believe life should be filled with opportunities to stay active, make friends, and create new memories. Recently, several of our residents had the opportunity to do just that while representing our community at the Annual East Texas Senior Games hosted by the East Texas Silver Citizens Coalition at the Maude Cobb Convention Center in Longview.
This year's theme was "Camp Eastman," and our residents embraced the spirit of friendly competition from the moment they arrived. Dressed in their camp-themed attire and armed with plenty of enthusiasm, they spent the day connecting with seniors from communities throughout East Texas while participating in a variety of games and activities.
The East Texas Senior Games are about much more than winning medals. They provide older adults with opportunities to stay physically active, engage socially, challenge themselves, and enjoy the excitement of healthy competition. Events like these remind us that age does not limit the ability to learn new skills, pursue goals, or have fun.
Our Eastman campers certainly made us proud.
Several residents returned home with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals after giving their very best effort throughout the day. Whether they were competing, cheering on teammates, or making new friends, every participant represented The Eastman with positivity, determination, and great sportsmanship.
While we're proud of the medals, we're even more proud of the confidence, laughter, and camaraderie our residents experienced throughout the event. The smiles on their faces told the real story. It was a day filled with encouragement, celebration, and the joy that comes from being part of something bigger than ourselves.
